What is the difference between "Name" & "Mailing Name" fields available in Company Creation or Alteration Screen in Tally / Tally.ERP9?


In Tally / Tally.ERP9, under Company Creation or Alteration Screen, the "Name" field is used to identify and access the Company(s) by the user who operates Tally. Example if ABC Co. Ltd. is running Business in two location say Delhi and Bangalore, then under "Name" field the user can suffix location name along with Company name to identify the company for which accounting has to be done. Example "ABC Co. Ltd. - Delhi",  "ABC Co. Ltd. - Bangalore". 

Even Financial Year can be suffixed if separate books are maintained for each financial year. Example "ABC Co. Ltd. - 2016-17", "ABC Co. Ltd. - 2017-18"




Where as the "Mailing Name" field is used to print the Company Name in all official Output Reports printed or Exported from Tally

Where ever the company name displayed / printed in Tally is picked from "Mailing Name" field and not from "Name" field.
